Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU (Step-Down) night shift position in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a Missouri or compact RN license.
Details
- Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU on a 26-bed unit functioning as an intermediate-level ICU
- Patient population includes neuro, trauma, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory distress, and patients requiring insulin drips
- Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
- Equipment includes Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, drains, EVDs, Nicom, BiPAP, and Airvo
- EMR: Epic
- Night shift schedule, 19:00–07:00 (7p–7a)
- 13-week assignment
- Weekend hours as required by the facility
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license eligible for MO endorsement required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (inpatient only)
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
Additional Information
- Performs direct patient care for post-trauma, surgical, and medically complex patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
- Role requires significant physical demands including standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance, and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs
- High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Black scrubs required; Mercy-logo attire is also acceptable
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for assignments running November 1–April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift, and candidates must be available the entire orientation week
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; no RTO approved in the first week
- Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced bill rate
- The facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and a Level 2 Stroke Center
