Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist registered with the NBRC for a 13-week day shift contract at a hospital in New York State.

Details

12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM–6:30 PM
3 shifts per week
13-week contract
EMR: Meditech

Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-accredited school for Respiratory Care
NY State Respiratory Therapist license required if applicable
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP and PALS preferred
Knowledge of acid/base/electrolyte relationships and their implications in life-threatening situations
Proficiency in establishing patient ventilator settings using metric measurements and advanced principles of volume, flow, pressure, and time relationships
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager required for consideration — must be from within the past year and within the respiratory therapy specialty

Additional Information

Responsibilities include managing mechanical ventilation and respiratory care for patients with life-threatening conditions
