Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel contract in Oregon, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications and at least 2 years of experience.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) setting within a hospital
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts (0700–1930), 3 shifts per week
- Scheduled days include Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday
- Broad patient population ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies, requiring the ability to manage varying levels of acuity
- Travelers may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of Oregon required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse patient population
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects up to 25 lbs
- Must be capable of continuous walking and standing throughout 12-hour shifts
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include triage, patient assessment, emergency care administration, continuous monitoring, and emergency response (rapid response calls and code blue situations)
- Collaborates closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, specialists, and support staff
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and required education for DNV programs as applicable
- If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
- Work environment includes frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, and hazardous materials; occasionally subject to combative patients
- BSN and clinical specialty certifications are preferred but not required
