Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift contract in Oregon, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications with at least 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week
  • Weekends and holidays required as the ED operates 24/7
  • Travelers may be floated to other departments before core staff when qualified to do so

Requirements

  • Active Oregon RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage high-acuity, diverse patient populations
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously and sustain 12-hour shifts in a high-stress environment

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include patient triage, assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, splinting, and emergency response (rapid response and code blue situations)
  • Accurately documents patient information and care in the EHR
  • Provides patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Subject to frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, hazardous materials, and occasionally combative patients
  • If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
  • Specialty-specific certifications beyond those required are preferred
