Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in Martinsville, VA, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ER experience and active VA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work setting is a 34-bed Emergency Department within a 220-bed acute-care hospital
• Serves a diverse patient population of all ages
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric cases
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• EMR system is Medhost
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend hours required every other weekend
• On-call required as needed
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, CPI/Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale — all AHA certifications must be in hand prior to start
• Emergency Room clinical skills and experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• 13-week contract
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and be considered for this position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Travelers may wear any scrub color of their choosing; casual wear is not acceptable
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required
• Bi-weekly Tuesday orientation schedule is available
