Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel contract in Martinsville, VA, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and active VA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department at an acute-care hospital licensed for 220 beds
• Serves all patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric cases
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• EMR system used is Medhost
• Day/Evening shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required on an as-needed basis
• On-call required on an as-needed basis
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, CPI/Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale — AHA certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
