Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring neuro/stroke and thrombectomy experience, prior travel experience, and the ability to take call with a 30-minute response time.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology (IR) department within a hospital setting
  • Neuro IR-focused unit serving stroke and procedural patient populations
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • 10–12 primary/back-up on-call shifts every six weeks, including a mix of weekday and weekend call
  • 30-minute response time required for on-call shifts
  • Call volume is expected to decrease as staffing levels increase
  • Epic Radiant (IR) EMR used
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
  • Neuro/stroke nursing experience required
  • Thrombectomy experience required
  • Conscious sedation experience required
  • ICU or procedural nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must be able to respond to on-call assignments within 30 minutes
  • PDF copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include administering conscious sedation medications, patient monitoring, pre-procedural timeouts, and applying critical care nursing skills in a busy IR department
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); religious or medical exemptions must comply with CMS guidelines
  • This is a smoke- and nicotine-free facility
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; no RTO will be approved after an offer is made, and no more than one week of time off will be approved during the contract
