Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Level III Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and working 12-hour night shifts.
Details
- Women's Health and OB Services unit with 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds
- Patient population includes L&D patients >35 weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, and postpartum
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for laboring patients; 1:3 for couplets, antepartum, and surgical patients
- 12-hour night shifts, 1830–0700, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- On-call requirements vary by contract
- May float to inpatient units in a sitter or CNA capacity
- EMR: Epic (experience noted)
- IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis
- Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) available at bedside and nurse's station; no telemetry
Requirements
- Active WI or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and FHM
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience with NSTs, triage, postpartum and newborn assessments/care, and nursery care
- Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year
- Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
Additional Information
- Level III Trauma Center located in Marinette, WI
- Unit support includes a Charge RN (takes patients as needed), Resource RN, RRT, and OB MD with a 30-minute callback time; RNs are responsible for drawing blood
- Orientation includes facility NEO and at least one shift to learn unit flow
- Any scrub color is acceptable
- Local candidates are accepted
- First-time travelers are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved during the contract
