Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Director of Women's & Children's Services (LDRP Director) position requiring a BSN and leadership experience in maternal-child health.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) unit
- Director-level role with 24/7 operational responsibility for inpatient L&D, postpartum/newborn services, and outpatient OB-GYN clinics
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 8-hour shifts
- 13-week contract
- Charting system: Cerner
- On-call support required as assigned, including participation in hospital incident command during emergencies
Requirements
- Active Vermont (VT) or Compact RN license required
- BSN required; MSN, MHA, or related advanced degree preferred
- Current RN or CNM license required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- EFM certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience required; 1–3 years of progressive leadership experience in maternal-child health preferred
- Experience with regulatory surveys and perinatal safety programs preferred
- Strong knowledge of perinatal evidence-based practice and AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Strong communication, leadership, and crisis management skills
- Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and support a culture of safety
Additional Information
- Provides strategic direction and operational oversight for Labor & Delivery, postpartum/newborn services, and outpatient OB-GYN clinics
- Leads a comprehensive perinatal safety program aligned with AIM safety bundles and AWHONN standards, including multidisciplinary simulation drills and obstetric emergency protocols
- Oversees regulatory compliance with CMS and state regulations, maintaining continuous survey readiness
- Leads perinatal quality improvement initiatives and monitors key metrics such as maternal morbidity, cesarean rates, and newborn outcomes
- Manages staffing, budgeting, recruitment, onboarding, and retention activities in alignment with AWHONN guidelines and patient acuity
- Partners with perinatal educators to support training, clinical competencies, and EFM education
- Participates in state and national perinatal quality collaboratives
- Leads service line strategic planning, capital budgeting, and performance monitoring
