Description

American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified Oncology RN for a day shift, 13-week travel contract at an outpatient clinic setting in Illinois.

• Outpatient oncology clinic setting
• Oncology unit with a focus on chemotherapy administration and patient education
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Chemotherapy certification required
• Oncology nursing experience required
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration

Additional Information

• Assess and address clinical, emotional, spiritual, psychosocial, and financial patient needs
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, side effects, adverse reactions, and reportable signs and symptoms in alignment with multidisciplinary care plans
• Coordinate discharge planning with patients, families, social workers, home nursing staff, oncologists, and physicians to ensure instructions are understood and followed
• Participate in multidisciplinary consultations and tumor conferences, and document resulting recommendations
• Contribute to the development of patient education materials, clinical pathways, and quality studies
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
