Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transitional Care Unit (TCU) position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license by the start of assignment.
Details
- Work in a 32-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU) in a hospital setting
- Adult med-surg patient population with transitional care needs
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8 with aide support at 1:6 during days and 1:8 during nights
- Variable shifts with varying shift lengths and days — flexibility is required
- Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
- EMR: Meditech (experience with this system is beneficial)
- Equipment used includes Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding, NG/G-tubes, trach care, and PICC/PORT
- Floating may be required to Med/Surg and Surgical Peds units
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance and obtain it prior to the start of assignment
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exemption required prior to contract start
Additional Information
- 13-week contract scheduled for 36 hours per week
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the assignment start date — plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
- Flu vaccination may be administered during the Employee Health clearance appointment if needed
- Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent assignment
- Professional nursing attire required
