Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at an acute care hospital, requiring comfort with both pediatric and adult patient populations and a valid MO or compact RN license.

• Works in the Emergency Department of a 233-bed acute care hospital
• Cares for both pediatric and adult patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating is not required
• Charting is done in Epic; experience required
• Glucostabilizer experience required
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Glucostabilizer experience required

Additional Information

• Nurses must be comfortable and proficient in caring for both pediatric and adult emergency patients
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of the BJC health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Local candidates are not accepted; applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
