Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring PICC line management and IV start experience.

Details

• Night shift position with a 6:45 PM start time, working 3x12-hour shifts
• 23-bed Medical Surgical unit within a 562-bed acute care hospital
• Floating is required for all travelers, both within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling may be available — connect with the manager to discuss schedule requests
• Cerner used for charting (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, or must be actively in the application process with an ETA
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required — AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• PICC line management experience required
• IV start experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• RTO of up to 5 days is ideally requested; anything beyond that requires facility approval
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Parking is available at no cost via a permit obtained during orientation
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
