Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring PICC line management and IV start experience.
Details
- Night shift position with a 6:45 PM start time, working 3x12-hour shifts
- 23-bed Medical Surgical unit within a 562-bed acute care hospital
- Floating is required for all travelers, both within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling may be available — connect with the manager to discuss schedule requests
- Cerner used for charting (experience preferred)
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required, or must be actively in the application process with an ETA
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required — AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- PICC line management experience required
- IV start experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted
- RTO of up to 5 days is ideally requested; anything beyond that requires facility approval
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Parking is available at no cost via a permit obtained during orientation
- Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
