Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring at least 1 year of Epic EMR experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit with a focus on stroke/TIA patients and higher-acuity med/surg cases
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Common diagnoses include stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Specialized procedures include peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Night shift: 18:45–07:15, 3x12-hour shifts
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating to other units and/or campuses may be required based on census and skill set; float assignments will match demonstrated competencies
• Medication system: Omnicell
• EMR: Epic (minimum 1 year of experience required)

Requirements

• Active TN RN license or compact RN license recognized in Tennessee
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Social Security Number (SSN) and Driver's License (DL) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Unit emphasizes patient experience and manages a high-acuity med/surg and stroke/TIA population
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
