Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring 2+ years of high-risk OB experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- High-risk (Level 3) OB patient population
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
- Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
- No on-call requirements
- Charting performed in Cerner
- This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including to other Cook County facilities within 50 miles
- Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of high-risk (Level 3) OB experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and NIHSS
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions
Additional Information
- Provides labor and delivery nursing care within a high-risk OB environment
- Floating may occur to a variety of units, including outside of primary competency area; a team-based care model is used when floated outside of primary specialty
- Float notifications may be given as little as 2 hours before a shift
- RTO is capped at 5 days maximum for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
- RTO on weekends will not be approved
- No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
- Any color scrubs are permitted
