Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, specializing in Cystic Fibrosis, lung transplant, and general medicine patients.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting; Magnet-designated and Level I Trauma teaching facility with 1,266 staffed beds
• Specialized Medical-Surgical unit focused on Cystic Fibrosis, lung transplant, and medicine patients, with overflow for standard medical patients
• Primary care nursing model
• Patient ratios of 1:3–5
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the service line required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• 13-week contract with the option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending IL license may be accepted with notation
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
• Parking passes are available for purchase at various lots and garages on or near campus; straight night shift workers may park in employee lots at no charge
• No on-call requirements
