Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in a Subintensive Medical Unit (PCU) on night shifts, requiring at least 18 months of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that is the only 24/7 acute care unit on campus, accommodating up to 36 patients
• Multi-specialty unit primarily focused on MS/Tele care, serving both medical and surgical patient populations
• Medical patients include those requiring dialysis, telemetry monitoring, and other acute medical needs
• Surgical patient populations include orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, supported by a Team Leader who is out of staffing
• EMR system is Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospital campuses is required

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) minimum required
• Minimum 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
• NURSYS verification required
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references within the last year required for consideration
• Skills checklist required for consideration

• Solid navy scrubs required
