Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a night shift travel assignment at a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital in Portland, ME.
Details
- Hospital-based respiratory therapy department covering the entire facility
- Team of 14–16 RRTs with varied daily assignments across adult and pediatric units, including NICU, PICU, acute care, and ED
- Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care, 1:8 for critical care
- Ventilators and equipment used include: Dräger V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
- EMR: Epic
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week, working every other weekend
- Call rotation required, approximately one call shift per month (2-hour call obligation for the oncoming shift)
- 26-week contract
Requirements
- RRT credential required
- Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Tertiary, teaching hospital experience required
- Level 1 trauma center experience required
- Experience in adult acute and critical care required
- Experience floating to NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, and ED required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU coverage
- NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided or flexible — no strict color requirement
- Airpods, laptops, and personal cell phone use are not permitted on the unit
- Only approved RTO documented in the contract is guaranteed; additional schedule requests cannot be accommodated
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate
- Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- If you have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months, this should be disclosed during the consideration process
- Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this assignment
- Float policy: candidates may be required to float between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed
