Description
American Traveler is hiring a traveling MRI Technologist for a 13-week outpatient assignment requiring 2+ years of MRI experience, including specialized skills in cardiac, breast, and elastography imaging, with float duties across two locations.
Details
- Outpatient clinic setting with float duties between two locations: in-house MRI Tech at one site and Mobile MRI Tech at a second location approximately 1–2 times per week
- Skills required include general MRI exams, implants, elastography, defecography, breast MRI, and cardiac MRI
- Primary shift is 5x8-hour days (12:30 PM–9:00 PM, Mon–Fri); 4x10 (10:30 AM–9:00 PM) and 3x12 (8:30 AM–9:00 PM) schedules may also be considered
- Saturday shifts (8:00 AM–4:00 PM) are required on a rotating basis; on weeks with a Saturday shift, only four weekday shifts are worked to maintain 40 hours
- No on-call requirement
- Primary imaging equipment is Siemens; experience with Sectra PACS is preferred
- Charting system is Epic; Epic experience is preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
- Active BLS (AHA) certification required
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- State license required if applicable
- Hands-on experience with Siemens MRI equipment required
- Proficiency in general MRI exams, implants, elastography, defecography, breast MRI, and cardiac MRI required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Radiation dosimetry badge required — candidates must supply their own, as the facility does not provide badges to travelers
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on unit needs
- Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
- Scrub colors are teal top and black pants
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- Parking is provided at no cost
