Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU Float Pool RN for a day shift travel contract in Portland, ME, requiring at least 3 years of ICU experience and a Maine or Compact RN license.
Details
- Float pool position covering multiple ICUs including Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CTICU based on experience
- Also floats to Intermediate Care (IMC) units within the organization
- ICU patient population includes sedated, intubated, and pressor-dependent patients; high-complexity cases such as CRRT are not assigned
- Patient ratios: 1:2 in ICU settings, 1:3 in IMC settings
- EMR: Epic
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 75% weekend requirement
- No on-call requirements
- 26-week contract preferred; 13-week contracts also accepted
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
- BLS required (additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment)
- Must be flexible with floating assignments across multiple ICU and IMC units
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Float pool role requires flexibility, as candidates may receive multiple different unit assignments within a single shift
- Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to outstanding patient care, team communication, and professional growth
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable; open-toed shoes (including Crocs), jeans, clothing with large logos or profanity are not permitted
- AirPods, laptops, and cell phone use are prohibited on the unit
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and are subject to a different bill rate; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- A 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should note this when applying
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
