Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric RN for a night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Decatur, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience and an active Illinois RN license.

Details

• 11-room, 16-bed Pediatrics unit within a 372-bed acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is required for all travelers, both within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting via Cerner (experience required)
• Free parking available on-site (permit required, obtained during orientation)
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirement

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required; active application with ETA accepted
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
• Experience in Pediatric Med/Surg and/or Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry settings required
• Required clinical skills: hyperbilirubinemia management, insulin administration, breastfeeding support and breast milk handling, bottle/breast/gavage feedings, oral/nasogastric tube placement, peripheral IV care and insertion, pediatric dosage calculations, oral/nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, wound assessment and care, infection prevention, and isolation precautions
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
• Scrubs: any solid color
