Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in inpatient rehabilitation, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Hospital inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit with a focus on specialized inpatient rehabilitation
• Patient population includes CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, generalized debility, and post-op surgical cases (e.g., post-stroke, aneurysm)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required; holidays as needed
• Floating is required — travelers may be floated between all health system campuses as needed
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Acute care rehab experience is preferred

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Skills required include: interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, patient health history and allergy assessment, vital signs monitoring, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine), phlebotomy, and telephone triage
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to inpatient rehabilitation patients with neurological and post-surgical needs
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed — study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
• The facility has a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
