Description
American Traveler is hiring a Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a pediatric hospital setting, requiring 2+ years of dedicated pediatric ultrasound experience and ARDMS or ARRT certification.
Details
- Pediatric hospital setting within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, academic teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds
- Position is exclusively in-house with no travel between campus buildings required
- Pediatric ultrasound patient population with a variable daily caseload
- Procedures include NEC and TCD studies, spinal ultrasound, liver Doppler (all vessels), renal Doppler, renal transplants, extremity venous Doppler, intussusception, pyloric stenosis, appendix studies, and neonatal head imaging
- Preferred experience includes liver transplant ultrasound
- Charting is performed in Epic
- 4x10-hour night shifts, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Flexibility to work additional days may be needed based on facility needs
- No on-call requirement
Requirements
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in dedicated pediatric ultrasound
- Pediatric hospital experience required
- Current BLS (AHA), and ARDMS or ARRT certification required
- Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
- SC state ultrasound licensure is not required; license required if applicable
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted depending on position fit
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; requests of 7 days or fewer of non-holiday RTO are more likely to be approved without delay
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Scrub colors are teal tops and black bottoms
- Onsite parking is available nights and weekends with a one-time $20 parking pass fee
- Modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
