Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a travel assignment in Española, NM, requiring at least 2 years of PACU experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

  • PACU setting within a hospital environment
  • Day shift, 10-hour varied shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
  • Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
  • Epic EMR used on-site; training available for those without prior Epic experience

Requirements

  • Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all must be issued by the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
  • Minimum of 2 years of current PACU experience required
  • At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
  • Must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment and able to work collaboratively as part of a team

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • A Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test is administered during the first week of the assignment; candidates who do not pass will be dismissed
  • Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
  • Responsibilities include clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
  • Nursing duties include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care; initiating protocols; administering medications and treatments; and coordinating care with the patient, family, and healthcare team
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish.
