Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and night shift availability.

Details

52-bed Emergency Department with an additional 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) providing 24/7 all-ages emergency care
Patient ratio of 5:2 with approximately 196 admits per day
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
4 days per week, 48 hours per week
On-call required up to 1 shift per pay period
4 weekend shifts required within each 6-week period
Holiday coverage required as needed
13-week contract

Requirements

Active RN license in NC or a compact state license accepted in NC
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
Current PALS certification (AHA or ARC)
Current NIHSS certification (APEX Innovations or Blue Cloud)
CPI-B certification required
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, utilizing the nursing process across all patient ages and acuity levels
Perform bedside point-of-care testing and complex patient assessments including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care planning, evaluation, and discharge planning for complex or high-risk patients
Participate in unit-based performance improvement activities and professional development initiatives
Adaptable, collaborative, and detail-oriented candidates are well-suited for this team
Opportunities for growth in leadership, specialty training, and education roles within the department
Drug screening results are required within 24 hours of commitment to the position; background check and drug screen results may take at least 2 weeks
