Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience in cardiac diagnostics including TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, and advanced imaging techniques for a 13-week contract at a community hospital cardiology stress lab.

Details

• Work in a cardiology stress unit at a 50-bed community hospital with 22 ED beds
• Patient population includes cardiac diagnostics, chemotherapy evaluations, and transplant evaluations
• Common studies include TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, and Dobutamine Stress Echo
• Uses Philips and GE echo equipment, CASE stress system, Philips ISCV for reporting, and Epic EMR
• Epic EMR experience required
• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• May float to satellite sites managed within the Wake Region

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac sonography
• At least 12 months of core work experience in the unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• Current BLS required; one of the following national certifications required: RCS, RDCS, or ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI)
• ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in TTE complete with color and Doppler
• Experience with Ultrasound Enhancement Agents (UEA – Definity/Optison)
• Advanced imaging skills including LV Global Strain, 3D imaging, HOCM, and agitated saline contrast studies per ASE/IAC Echo standards
• Stress Echo and Dobutamine Stress Echo experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

• Dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator and Chief Sonographer provide department support
• Orientation includes facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental training
• No on-call or call-back requirements

• Required scrub colors: Barney Purple tops (not eggplant) and black pants/skirts; warm-up jackets may be either purple or black
