Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Windsor, VT, requiring prior charge RN experience and a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg and Rehab experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a small community hospital setting
• Mixed patient population spanning Med/Surg and Acute Rehab
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5 with an average daily census of 22
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required; holidays required as needed
• On-call is required for this position
• Floating required to Acute Rehab and other units within scope of practice
• EMR: Cerner
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Vermont RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Rehab RN experience required
• Charge RN experience required — non-negotiable
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least 3 months required
• BSN preferred
• Must have a personal vehicle — public transportation is not available in this area
• Med/Surg skills checklist current within 1 year required for consideration
• At least one supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Coordinates total nursing care for patients, including patient and family education
• May be asked to serve as backup Charge Nurse
• Works cooperatively with ancillary and interdisciplinary team members to maintain professional nursing practice standards
• Block scheduling will not be accommodated for this position
• Candidates must not be simultaneously working another travel or permanent placement
• No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted; all RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application — requests after offer may result in a rescinded offer
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
