Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in complex congenital heart defects for a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Pediatric cardiology/echo department within a children's hospital setting
- Daily caseload of 4–10 studies per tech
- Pediatric patient population with complex congenital heart disease cases
- Staggered day shifts, Monday through Friday, with start times ranging from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM (8-hour shifts)
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- No holidays required
- Position requires floating between the children's hospital and a North Charleston clinic location
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of echo/cardiac sonography experience
- ARDMS registration with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification, OR CCI with RCCS certification — all certifications must be in hand at time of start
- Pending state license may be accepted; license required if applicable
- Current BLS (AHA only)
- Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms and extensive knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects required
- Experience with GE Vivid 95 and PACS system, including full report entry, preferred
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates living within 60 miles of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- All staff and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams; travelers should be aware that hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September
