Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU (NICU) travel position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring Level IV NICU experience and the ability to float throughout the children's units.
Details
- Neonatal ICU (NICU) in a hospital setting
- Level IV NICU environment within a Level I Trauma Hospital
- Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Floating required throughout all children's units
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and NRP (both from AHA only)
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience required
- Level IV NICU experience required
- Level I Trauma Hospital experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring neonatal patients, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
- Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicates care plans with patients' families
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks total (including one extension); a 6-month separation period is required before returning for another contract
- Compliance onboarding (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced and start dates will not be pushed
