Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift contract in Pagosa Springs, CO, requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Works in a hospital Med/Surg unit providing observation and inpatient care to adult patients
• Day shift schedule: 0630–1830, 3 days/week (12-hour shifts)
• 13-week contract
• Cerner EHR experience required, including use of Care Compass for documentation

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in good standing required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required, or must be completed at the next available course within 3 months
• Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg or Emergency Room nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program required
• Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience required
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and assisting with patient movement

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, medication and IV therapy administration, cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, and patient/family education
• Documents assessments, care tasks, procedures, and education using Cerner and Care Compass
• Communicates patient status changes using SBAR format and collaborates with interdisciplinary care team
• Follows infection prevention practices, universal precautions, and National Patient Safety Goals
• Work environment involves exposure to work stress, moderate noise, frequent interruptions, and potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable disease, radiation, chemicals, and hazardous materials
• Serves as a mentor to other nursing staff and supports continuous learning
• Candidate must demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting
