Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Pagosa Springs, CO, requiring a minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg or ER experience and prior travel nursing experience.

• Inpatient Med/Surg unit setting at a medical center in Pagosa Springs, CO
• Adult Med/Surg patient population requiring observation and inpatient nursing care
• Night shift schedule: 1830–0630, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Cerner EMR used; experience is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand and in good standing
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS (ACLS and PALS may be completed at the next available course within 3 months of start)
• Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg or Emergency Room RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program required
• Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience required

Additional Information

• Assess and monitor patient clinical status across respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, pain, skin integrity, and mental health domains
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other ordered treatments safely and accurately
• Complete Cerner documentation including assessments, nursing tasks, care plans, patient education, and treatments
• Coordinate care using SBAR and approved handoff procedures
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Must be comfortable working independently on night shift and managing changing patient care priorities
• Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, infection prevention practices, and professional standards throughout the shift
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
