Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week day shift contract at an acute care facility in the West Valley area.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in a Respiratory Therapy department
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• On-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours may be required per department and/or facility policy
• Charting via Epic EMR (experience preferred)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) via NBRC required
• Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP, and PALS — pending certifications will not be accepted
• State or Compact (NLC) licensure must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses will not be accepted; license required if applicable
• Prior EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; permanent address is verified via driver's license

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessments, care plan development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of therapy plans as needed
• Performs diagnostic testing including ABGs, PFTs, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, bronchoscopy, and pulse oximetry
• Transports patients within the hospital or between facilities
• Position may require flexible hours before and after standard shifts, as well as overtime
• Clinicians must be on-site for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded from consideration
