Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Magnet-designated Critical Access Hospital, requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a 25-bed Critical Access, Magnet-designated hospital
• Assignment is on a Medical Surgical unit with floating required between two Med/Surg units and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Patient ratio is 1:6 on all shifts
• Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting is done in Cerner

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, or must be actively in the application process with an ETA
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• IV insertion experience required
• Cerner experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO requests should be discussed with the manager; up to 5 non-holiday days may be approved without facility review
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Parking is available on-site at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation
