Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and the ability to pass an EKG exam.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• ICU unit with a patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope or between like units required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must pass an EKG exam — no exceptions
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are generally not preferred, though exceptions may be considered at the manager's discretion based on years of experience
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to the first day (approximately 4–10 hours)
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a general max of 4 days; all time off requests must be submitted upfront
• Only 1 holiday approval can be accommodated during the contract
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• This is a night shift position and may be extended once; after the contract limit is reached, candidates must be away for at least 6 months before returning
