Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and the ability to pass an EKG exam.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- ICU unit with a patient ratio of 1:2–3
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope or between like units required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Charting system: Epic (experience required)
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Must pass an EKG exam — no exceptions
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are generally not preferred, though exceptions may be considered at the manager's discretion based on years of experience
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
- Royal blue and white scrubs required
- Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to the first day (approximately 4–10 hours)
- RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a general max of 4 days; all time off requests must be submitted upfront
- Only 1 holiday approval can be accommodated during the contract
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- This is a night shift position and may be extended once; after the contract limit is reached, candidates must be away for at least 6 months before returning
