Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a day shift travel assignment at a Level 1 trauma, tertiary teaching hospital in Portland, ME.

Details

• Hospital-based respiratory therapy department covering the entire facility with a team of 14–16 RRTs
• Patient population includes adult acute/critical care, NICU, PICU, pediatric acute care, and ED
• Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care
• Ventilators and equipment include: Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
• EMR: Epic
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 36-hour work week
• Every other weekend required
• On-call rotation required, approximately one call shift per month; call requires availability 2 hours before the oncoming shift
• Float requirements include NICU/PICU, pediatric acute care, ED, and adult acute and critical care areas
• 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply as needed

Requirements

• RRT certification required
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
• BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU coverage
• Experience at a tertiary, academic teaching hospital required
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple care settings within the facility, including adult critical care, NICU, PICU, pediatric acute care, and ED
• Scrubs are provided or flexible dress code is acceptable
• Only approved RTO documented in the contract is guaranteed; the facility cannot accommodate schedule requests outside of contractual RTO
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
