Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Houston, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR circulating experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Operating Room setting located in the South Tower, 2nd Floor of an acute care hospital in Houston, TX
- 8-OR suite staffed by 13 RNs and 10 scrub techs
- Procedures include general surgery, robotics, colorectal surgery, neuro spine, orthopedics, and urology
- 1:1 patient ratio
- OR operating hours are 0730–1700; shift hours are 0630–1900
- EMR: Meditech ORM
- On-call required: rotating call schedule based on current employee assignments; weekday call runs from end of shift (5pm or 7pm) to 7am; weekend call is 24-hour (7am–7am Saturday and Sunday)
- Floating to other like areas may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience at an acute care hospital
- Strong skills in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery required
- Meditech ORM experience preferred
- Neuro spine experience preferred
- CNOR certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Daily team huddle at 0645
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Artificial nails, dips, gels, and similar nail enhancements are not permitted in the OR
- Candidates should be flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- One professional reference required (candidates from Florida or Missouri must provide two references)
