Description
American Traveler is seeking a Chemotherapy/Infusion RN with active IL licensure and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification for a 13-week contract in a hospital infusion setting.
Details
- Hospital-based infusion/consulting services department
- Patients receiving IV infusions including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and drug therapies
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active IL RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification through the Oncology Nursing Society required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
- Strong EMR navigation and computer skills
- Date of birth (DOB) and SSN may be required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for initiating IVs via central venous devices or peripheral access and administering blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and drug infusions
- Manages antineoplastic agents and therapy in accordance with safety protocols, accounting for physical and psychological effects, risks, and benefits
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments including pain assessment, medical history, and age/culturally appropriate care planning
- Educates patients and families on treatment plans, follow-up instructions, and pain management techniques
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and communicates patient status changes to practitioners
- Participates in performance improvement activities
