Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an OR position at a Level II Trauma Center in Colorado, requiring trauma and neuro experience with a Friday–Sunday day shift schedule.
Details
- Acute care hospital OR setting with 16 suites averaging 30 cases per day
- Common case types include General, ENT, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, and Robotics
- Level II Trauma Center
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Friday through Sunday, with 12-hour shifts
- On-call requirement of approximately 120 hours per 13-week contract, shared in rotation with staff
- Call response time is 30 minutes
- Charge nurse and house supervisor present on every shift; 2 OR techs on shift per day
- Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
- RNs are not required to scrub
- Floating may be required in cases of extreme need within the regional zone
- Travelers are expected to secure housing that allows them to meet floating zone requirements
- Epic EMR used in this position
- Unit-specific orientation provided (12 hours)
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required — pending certifications are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Trauma and neuro OR experience required
- Candidate must reside at least 60 miles from the facility, verified by driver's license
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Candidates must be on-site for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- 4th of July holiday coverage is preferred
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible — those placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- A unit manager interview is part of the hiring process
