Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Transplant OR RN for a short-term acute care hospital setting, requiring a minimum of 2 years of transplant experience and an active IN or Compact RN license.
Details
- Works in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospital
- Specialty focus is abdominal transplants, including kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral procedures
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts, weekend nights (Saturday and Sunday) plus one rotating weekday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- On-call and holiday coverage are required
- Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of transplant OR experience required — this is a hard stop requirement
- Cerner EMR experience required
- RN degree from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have strong transplant experience meeting the 2-year requirement
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are eligible for this Surgical Services position at a lower pay package
- Any former permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
