Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a PICU-based travel assignment at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience and children's hospital experience within the last 3 years.
Details
- Work at a pediatric children's hospital in a PICU-based respiratory therapy role
- Home unit will be NICU, PICU, or Peds and is assigned upon arrival based on facility need
- Patient populations include PICU, NICU, and general pediatrics; primary work will be in Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
- Every other weekend requirement
- Floating may occur across PICU, NICU, and Peds units, as well as to an affiliate hospital
- Cerner charting experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Indiana (IN) state RT license required; IN temporary license accepted if full license application has been submitted — license required if applicable
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, and NRP (NRP may be obtained upon offer if not already held)
- PALS preferred
- Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience
- Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required
- L&D experience required
- Experience at a Level 1 adult facility may be considered in lieu of children's hospital experience
- NICU or PICU experience required
- AHA and RQI certifications accepted and must be current
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are accepted for this Allied position
- Candidates must be comfortable working every other weekend prior to submission
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break before reapplying — 90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for Indiana residents — prior to reaching the 12-month mark
