Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU/Stepdown position in Alabama, requiring strong cardiac monitoring experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac and telemetry monitoring cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float to Med/Surg units
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown settings required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Proficiency in IV insertion, Heparin protocols, and management of cardiac drips (no titration) required
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Candidates who were previously permanent employees at this facility are not eligible
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible but may be subject to a different pay rate
• Hospital housing is available — shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces; gender-specific units; no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate directly with the facility
• The facility is located in a remote area, making on-site housing the most practical option
• The facility provides flight reimbursement for economy-class travel to and from the assignment; detailed flight and luggage receipts are required for processing
• Flight itinerary must be submitted one week prior to the start date; the facility will arrange airport pickup for arriving travelers
