Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Petoskey, MI, requiring 2+ years of straight Med/Surg experience and trauma level experience.
Details
- Level 2 North is a 28-bed Medical Surgical unit at a hospital in Petoskey, MI
- Diverse patient population including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients
- Fast-paced environment with an emphasis on patient safety, evidence-based care, and positive patient outcomes
- 13-week contract, 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required (LARA and Nursys verification required)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of straight Med/Surg RN experience required — float, SDU, or Telemetry experience does not qualify
- Level I or Level II trauma experience required
- Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
- Travel nursing experience preferred

- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans using clinical pathways and interactive communication
- Unit operates with an active Shared Governance (Unit Based Council) that promotes teamwork and a positive work environment
- New team members receive orientation support as they grow in their nursing practice
- The facility maintains a strict attendance policy — three instances of an unexcused absence or arriving more than 20 minutes late to a scheduled shift may result in immediate termination
- Current full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested for this assignment
