Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Bowling Green, KY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and an active KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Located in the Surgery unit (OR) of a hospital, situated on the main campus, first floor
- 10-bed OR suite with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Performs orthopedic, general, urology, GYN, and ENT procedures, averaging 25–35 cases per day
- High-volume joint and robotic surgery program with over 1,300 total joints and 550 DaVinci robotic cases performed annually
- Specialized equipment includes the Hana bed, DaVinci XI (x2), MAKO, and Velys hip & knee systems
- Documents in Meditech
- Shift hours are 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; elective cases run 7:00 AM–6:30 PM
- On-call is required: one weekend per month (48-hour call), plus 2 first-call and 2 second-call weekdays per week
- Call shift hours: first call 6:30 PM–7:00 AM, second call 6:30 PM–9:00 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Unit support staff includes a manager, board runner, holding nurse, surgical attendants, and anesthesia tech
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Must provide own scrubs
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach are strongly valued
