Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 1B Continuing Care Nursery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active MA RN license in hand.

Details

  • Level 1B NICU/Continuing Care Nursery setting, caring for late preterm infants (35 weeks and beyond) and newborns with health complications
  • 4-bed unit with a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
  • Patient population includes infants with opioid exposure (ESC), transient tachypnea (TTN), blood sugar instability, and respiratory support needs
  • Equipment in use includes cardiopulmonary monitors, LED phototherapy lights, radiant warming units, resuscitation and stabilization care centers, IV infusion pumps, isolettes, and oxygen therapy
  • Donor milk and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy utilized on the unit
  • Meditech Expanse EMR experience is highly preferred
  • Block scheduling requests will not be considered

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts (MA) RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration — license will not be pended
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of current NICU experience required; Level 1B or higher NICU experience is specifically required
  • Experience with ESC (Eat, Sleep, Console) protocol for opioid-exposed infants required
  • Experience with TTN (Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn) required
  • Experience with neonatal blood sugar stabilization required
  • Experience providing respiratory support to neonates required
  • Experience with high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) required
  • Personal vehicle required
  • NICU skills checklist current within the past year required
  • One supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years of employment required

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — scheduling requests made at or after the time of offer will not be approved and may result in a rescinded offer
  • RTO is limited to no more than 5 days
  • First-time travelers are not mentioned as welcome; Level 1B or higher NICU experience is strictly required
