Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring a DC RN license, at least 2 years of acute care OR experience, and on-call availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Hospital operating room setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 10-hour shifts
• 40 hours per week
• On-call required for nights, weekends, and holidays
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued only)
• CPI certification required for this position
• Minimum 2 years of acute care OR experience in a US hospital required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• Valid US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures and department admissions to the operative suite
• Prepares the OR for the patient and surgical procedure, assembles equipment and supplies, and ensures all equipment is functional and implants/supplies are available
• Consults and coordinates with the surgical team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
• Serves as a communication liaison between patients, families, and members of the operating team
• Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
