Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in New Mexico, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- ICU setting within a hospital environment
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:50 AM – 7:50 PM
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred but on-site training is available
Requirements
- Active RN license for New Mexico or a Compact State currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA, AHSI, or ARC), ACLS (AHA, AHSI, or ARC), and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required
- At least one prior 13-week travel nursing assignment required
- ADN or ASN degree required
- Must be able to pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to starting the assignment
Additional Information
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care for an assigned group of patients
- Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
- Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Provides patient and family education on learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care
- Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
- Completes population-, age-, and procedure-specific competency testing per unit standards
- The on-site BCA test is administered on the first day of orientation; candidates have one opportunity to retest if they do not pass initially
- Former permanent employees of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating as part of a team
