Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2–3 years of experience for a night shift NICU travel assignment at a Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital, with floating between two campuses.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting — 258 staffed beds, Level 2 Trauma Center, and Magnet-recognized teaching hospital
• Primary adult RT population with occasional NICU responsibilities
• NICU scope includes bCPAP, HFNC, and mechanical ventilation for neonates ≥30 weeks gestational age
• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend at most, potentially every third
• Floating required between two affiliate campuses (Mercy Coon Rapids and Mercy Unity) as needed
• No on-call requirement
• Charting system: Epic (Excellian)
• Olive green scrubs required
• No parking fees

Requirements

• Current RRT credential (CRTT acceptable)
• Current certifications: ACLS, NRP, and PALS
• 2–3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Pending state license accepted — license required if applicable
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• All required certifications must be included for consideration, including license verification (Nursys or Allied)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment and education, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, ABG collection and analysis, inhaled medication administration, complex oxygen therapy, airway clearance and inflation techniques, and bedside spirometry
• CPR administration is part of the role's scope
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO of no more than 5 days is preferred
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift before being considered
• Pre-start modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but the facility will make efforts to accommodate when possible
