Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position in an interventional cardiac/procedure unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and strong interventional cardiac skills.
Details
- Interventional Cardiac/Procedure Unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes pre/post invasive and diagnostic procedures, cardioversion, pre/post angiogram, elective PCI, EP patients (ablation, lead placement, pacer placement), pre-TAVR and Mitral Clip, and same-day post-op recovery for structural heart procedures
- Procedures and skills utilized include TEE, cardioversion/defibrillation, procedure sedation, blood/blood product administration, epicardial pacer management, sheath removal, telemetry interpretation, and management of heparin and insulin drips
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
- Day shift, 3x10-hour shifts, 11:00–21:30
- No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
- Floating required to like units within the facility and across all facilities within the state — flexibility is essential
- Epic EMR experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or valid Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong interventional cardiac background required, including IV skills, sheath pull experience, stable drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of any Providence Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent employees of a non-Swedish Providence facility are eligible if separated for at least 3 months
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (location and dates) as part of the consideration process
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
