Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 1 year of ER experience, active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and proficiency with Epic.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a hospital
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Required clinical skills include management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patients, and triage
• Uses Pyxis for medication dispensing and Epic for charting
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within facility scope of practice and potentially to a sister campus

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• Active license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred — some units require two on file for review

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted night shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a travel nurse
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No on-call requirements
