Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a travel Operating Room position at an outpatient orthopedic surgery center in California, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.

Details

• Outpatient orthopedic surgery center setting with 2 ORs and 8 pre-op/PACU beds
• Orthopedic specialty focus covering sports medicine, upper and lower extremity, foot and ankle, physiatry, joints, and pediatric orthopedics
• Patient population ranges from 2–100 years old, primarily outpatient orthopedic surgery cases
• Average daily census of 30 patients
• Circulator role with potential responsibilities in pre-op and PACU
• Floating required to Same Day Surgery, Pain Management, and the Main OR as needed
• Staffing is shared with an on-campus Interventional Pain Management unit (separate building with 2 procedure rooms and 10 pre/post beds)
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with variable start times beginning as early as 0545 and typically finishing around 1700, flexing with surgeon schedules
• No weekends and no holidays
• Late-day coverage expected on a fair and rotational basis
• Epic used for charting

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• RNFAs must have a minimum of 2 years of scrub experience in an orthopedic specialty
• Epic proficiency required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
